I have recently completed reading this book 'Give and Take' by Adam Grant
It is very insightful and comprehensive book. The writer of this book is well known psychologist.
I am sharing some of the best quotes from this book.
"It’s not just about building your reputation; it really is about being there for other people.”
"Rifkin’s real aim is to change our fundamental ideas about how we build our networks and who should benefit from them. He believes that we should see networks as a vehicle for creating value for everyone, not just claiming it for ourselves."
"This ability to imagine other people’s perspectives, rather than getting stuck in our own perspectives, is a signature skill of successful givers in collaborations."
"The psychologist Angela Duckworth calls this grit : having passion and perseverance toward long-term goals. Her research shows that above and beyond intelligence and aptitude, gritty people—by virtue of their interest, focus, and drive—achieve higher performance."
"When we give our time, energy, knowledge, or resources to help others, we strive to maintain a belief that they’re worthy and deserving of our help."
"I’d say the motives don’t matter: it’s the behavior itself that counts."
I would say it is worthful to read this book and different perspectives of give and take.I would like to be giver in more ways than I have been.
I am quoting well said mantra of my guru HDH Pramukh Swami Maharaj "In joy of others, lies our own" which was living philosophy of him.
